Tom DiGiovanni CPA
Tom began his business career with “Big 4” accounting firm Ernst & Young, working on operational and financial audits for clients in a variety of different industries. A short time later he was recruited into private industry by an industrial goods firm where, at the age of 25, he became the youngest Controller in the history of that company - helping to oversee 3 different acquisitions, more than 500% sales growth and the creation of a national brand in a two year period. Tom then moved on to head up Finance and Operations at a Seattle based branding, marketing and merchandising firm. Over the next six years, as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, he helped that firm manage explosive 1,700% growth to more than $125 million in annual sales and over 525 employees. The company became a leader and innovator within its industry and was twice recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the 500 fastest growing companies in the United States. Tom next took on the role of Chief Operating Officer for a high tech start up, where he led the successful effort to raise startup capital and secure a launch client. Shortly thereafter, he assumed the role of CFO (and subsequently President) of a product branding and marketing firm where, over the next two years, he helped create profitable growth of more than 100% before negotiating an acquisition by a larger competitor. In 2003, Tom founded Newhouse Development Group and quickly built the company into an early leader in energy efficient "green" development. At the same time, he maintained a business consulting practice that focused on the complex financial and operating issues experienced by startups and high growth companies. In addition to his work experience, Tom is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Georgia State University CFO Council and the Advisory Board for the Georgia State University Executive Master’s Degree in Finance program. He is also a past nominee for the Puget Sound Business Journal "40 under 40" Award and was a finalist for the Atlanta Business Chronicle's "CFO of the Year" Award. Tom is a fully licensed CPA in the states of California and Washington, and has worked on more than $2.5 billion in operations funding and capital asset financing deals, over $2.5 billion in M&A transactions and $2+ billion in complex real estate funding.
